LITCHFIELD mayor

Common Sense, Real Results

I’m officially putting my hand up to run for Mayor again in the NT local government elections this August. It’s been an honour serving as your Mayor, and we’ve achieved some great things together — from better roads and waste services, to backing our rural volunteers and building a stronger, safer community.

But there’s still more to do, and I’m ready to keep working hard for our patch.

Whether it’s pushing for fair funding, improving flood resilience, or making sure rural voices are heard loud and clear, I’ll keep showing up, speaking up, and getting it done.

I’ll be out and about in the weeks ahead, so if you see me around, come say g’day and have a chat. Your ideas and feedback matter — they always have.

Let’s keep working together for the best Litchfield we can be.

On the 23rd of August, Vote 1 - Doug Barden for Mayor of Litchfield

- Carveth & William Rd – 2018/19

- Oxford Rd – 2019/20

- Whitestone Rd - 2020/21

- Guy Creek Rd -2021/22

- Mango Rds (currently under construction)

- Mocatto Rd - 2020/21

- Horsnell Rd- 2020/21

- Chibnall Rd 2020/21

- Kentish Rd - 2021/22

Continuation of the road construction from the previous council projects as per the 2015/16 Municipal Plan, which includes:

- Buyers Rd

- Manton Valley Rd

- Brougham Rd (south)

Lobbied hard to prevent the UCV rating system from being brought into council policy in 2019/20.

Lobbied to stop the Council purchase of the AllTools building at 9 Patsalou Rd. It was a bad deal and would have left the Council in debt.

Lobbied Council to have funding for Recreation Reserves increased at the same rate as council rate increases. I'm still fighting for this.

Successfully lobbied Council for the Mira Square lease from NTG & NTG grant funding.
